The Paraguay residence permit is one of the cheapest and quickest to obtain worldwide.
The entire residence application can be completed with 2 short visits to Asunción of only 3 working days each or a longer stay of around 50 days (7 weeks). The completed Cedula (Paraguay identity card) will then be sent by mail to the address of your choice.
We only need the following apostilled documents: birth certificate, marriage certificate or divorce certificate (if applicable) and a certificate of good conduct (only from the age of 14) not older than 180 days. You will travel to Asunción with these original documents.
There is no minimum stay. During your visit after 2 years of temporary residency, i.e. shortly before your temporary residence permit expires, you can convert your temporary residence permit into a permanent residence permit. After that, you only have to enter the country once every 3 years.
With the Paraguayan Cédula, you can open international bank accounts in a country that does not participate in the automatic exchange of information.
In Paraguay, foreign sourced income is completely tax-free. Only local income is taxed at up to 10%.
